Furniture Conservation

Conserving objects can have many benefits, often improving the appearance of an object dramatically and sometimes revealing the original surface or design from beneath layers of repairs and refinishing.

By its nature conservation stabilises objects meaning lower repair costs in years to come and often making a piece useable or available for display. When conservation is neglected objects can deteriorate to a stage where restoration is very difficult and original design elements may be lost.
